Uncle Josh's Punkin Centre Stories
Cal Stewart
A classic book by humorist Cal Stewart who spent over three decades recording his "Uncle Josh" stories for millions of phonograph record listeners in the early 1900s. In his famous role as "hillbilly rube" Uncle Josh Weathersby, he was a true American star during the birth of recorded sound. This hilarious book gives readers a snapshot into the world of "Punkin Centrer", the fictional hometown of Uncle Josh. Not unlike Garrison Keillor's Lake Woebegone, the world Stewart creates is real, vibrant and often times, hilarious!
