Edward Górecki
The book contains poetry - "Thoughts" - of a Polish immigrant, veteran of World War II. From the beginning of the War, the poems move us through the Russian occupation and deportation to Siberia, creation of Polish Army, journey through Asia, Middle East, Europe to England, end of the War. Like many Poles at that time, the difficult choice of staying in England and then moving to the United States brings us another set of poems, where the immigration issues are dealt with a personal insight, sometimes irony, but always to the point. This book will not leave any reader indifferent. Always positive, in spite of the atrocities of war, or immigration troubles, it is a powerful, yet very personal tale bringing to us this part of history of many Polish lives. This book is written in Polish language.
