It appears that wealthy industrialist Arlis Taylor's plan to develop a geothermal energy plant in the Caribbean has come under attack from an environmental extremist group determined to block the project. He fears for his life but no one will believe him. Arlis's fiancee enlists the help of her long-time friend Clare Roark and her investigative reporter husband Alex to prove Taylor is in danger and to help uncover the plot to sabotage the project. Alex is unsure of Taylor's motives until a friend is nearly killed and husband and wife are drawn into a deadly vortex of betrayal, deception and death.
