Publisher Marketing: "For those who wish time travel were possible, there's Rich Hughes' Code Firefly."(Formerly published as Firefly.) "It's a well;-crafted, detailed journey back in time to the turbulent days of the Revolutionary War-great reading for all who love history." --Jack Cavanaugh, best-selling historical fiction novelist. In 1775, there is no Colonial army, no navy, virtually nothing to oppose the mighty British war machine. The odds against America are ominous! Travis Danvers is astonished when George Washington asks him to reduce the odds all by himself. What can Travis possibly do? Ansom Chandler is formidable with his long rifle, but can he defeat his haunting past? Audacious Betsy Haber can outwit redcoat sentinels, but can she escape the clutches of bloodthirsty Tories? Can Samuel, a Native American, survive the savagery of the times? Is Elizabeth Bishop a traitor? How can she, the daughter of a British naval commander, justify her friendship with the rebels? Where can she find peace amidst the tumult of an 'impossible' love, a terrifying kidnapping, and the dictates of her heritage? Every ounce of courage and faith that these extraordinary people possess will be needed to help America survive its perilous birth. Contributor Bio:  Hughes, Rich Rich Hughes enjoyed an award-winning career in the advertising business before he wrote "Firefly." He is a native of Connecticut. Rich served as an officer in the U. S. Air Force, graduated from The University of The South (Sewanee), and holds an MA degree from the Writing Seminars at Johns Hopkins University. Rich and his wife, Beth, live in Marietta, Georgia. They have two children and two grandchildren, twin boys. Rich is a descendant of General John Glover, Commander Nicholson Broughton, and Private William Swan, a member of George Washington's Life Guard. All three men play roles in the novel. Rich's grandmother, Florence Morey of Brookline, MA, collected documents and records about Glover and Broughton, especially, and stored them in boxes, in a trunk. These papers became the inspiration for "Firefly."
