When five women are reported missing to LAPD on the same day, all eighteen years old and within a five mile radius, they could be partying. When two more clusters are identified in California, taking the number to nineteen, homicide detective Brett Shaw knows it's going to be no party for him.

Six years later, Shaw will never forget that day, or the events that took place. It was also the day he handed in his badge to look after Amy, his daughter. Now working as the sheriff of a small town, Shaw isn't given time to dwell on the past, when he is called to the scene of the town's first murder. Clues lead him back to the missing girls that he never had a chance to investigate.

As he comes closer to the truth, his daughter is targeted, her life endangered by powerful aliens from humankind's past, their existence buried in history, just as the reports were on those missing girls.

Shaw will have to overcome his own demons if he is to rescue those he holds dear to his heart.
