Two devout followers of the Six, Catherine and Paul, question everything they have been taught when an Outsider crashes into their world. Catherine fights against the maws that threaten to overrun the Cleansed Lands. Paul yearns to serve the Six as one of their mighty priests. Everything changes with the arrival of this Outsider who has the same powers as their own gods. When Paul is inducted into the legendary order of priests atop the mountain Skypoint, he begins to realize that the Six might not be as infallible as he has been told. Catherine leaves her village of builders to find the truth for herself, taking the Outsider with her as both a hostage and a guide. What they find leads them to seek the council of the Outsider. Their decision could break apart everything they have built in the Cleansed Land. With a mix of Science-Fiction and Fantasy, this story depicts the reluctant hero and the difficult decisions made by the great leaders that can influence an entire world. It shows how even the most humble can shake the ground with their words and their deeds.
