Some scientists such as suggest that increase in amount of production and greater consumption requires higher levels of inputs of production, so more material is absorbed and more energy is consumed. Increase in this relationship also produces larger amounts of waste and cause a growth in accumulation of garbage, extraction of natural resources and concentration of industries causing pollution. In this case an ability of earth itself to absorb wastes is exceeded and all later may be a reason of outruning current capacity and sustainability of the biosphere. Moreover, it may diminish the quality of environment and may cause a regression in human welfare or poor living of quality.
