February, 1932, British India. Chief Inspector Malcolm Priestly and his deputy, Dr. Prem Singh are invited by the Nizam of Wahidabad, the world's richest man, to the king's banquet in Mussoorie. That night, they are formally introduced to the Nizam's new Scottish wife. The night passes peacefully. Dawn breaks over the Himalayas with the spectacle of a man's body slumped over a Rolls Royce parked behind the hotel. Initially, Dr. Prem Singh suspects an accident. But Malcolm Priestly is not convinced. The doctor's theory does not explain the curious location of the car or the expensive item found inside it. A more detailed examination of the body confirms Priestly's suspicions. But before they can act, a handwritten note with a cryptic message is found inside one of the hotel rooms. This points to a bigger conspiracy that involves someone in the Nizam's royal entourage......
