Peripheral boards suddenly begin to fail and cause fires at ComTex Computers. The failed boards were built by Portico Peripherals, part of the Portico Group, Inc. Ami Ward contacted her friend Kittie Harrison who worked at Portico. She found out that things were not so good at Portico and the CEO was ranting about it. Kittie was terrified she would be fired. Many people had been fired in the past month. Some had even disappeared. Some had been found dead. Suicide was the medical finding but there were questions. Kittie was kidnapped. Ami and Seattle Police Detective Ben Hewitt found her, but then he and Kittie were both fatally shot. Things really began to happen then!
