The runaway Juhl princess Lak'Tara must learn to use her sensitive's power-plus those gained by her newly reawakened calling as a Deinya-before the Dark Rakon track her down to haul her back to wed their king. He seeks to use Tara to annihilate the Deinya, the protectors of the world, so that he may harvest the rest of the world at his leisure. Meanwhile, the Deinya warrior Raven leads Princess Kemorathane and his apprentice Jadean in search for the Rakon of Light's trials in order for Kemorathane-Kemmie-to become the Light of Hope, the key to the Dark Rakon's destruction. Time ticks against them all as the Rakon discover Tara's trail, but with the help of some new friends, perhaps our heroes will unlock hope's secrets before humanity is destroyed.
