"Grow in Gaoda" signs pass by the newlywed couple, Lillian and Diego Lua, who drive through suburbia looking at houses they can't afford. They enter a fictional, storybook town called Gaoda. When Lillian finds out she's pregnant, Lillian and Diego take their chance to move into a Gaodan starter home. In Little Lua, Lillian, Diego, and their daughter Maria navigate their relationships with each other, themselves, and the town as they are welcomed in as a young and promising family. But is the storybook town of their dreams everything they wished it would be?
