With the goal of improving the academic performance of primary and secondary students, interactive coursewares were introduced as a tool to motivate students to learn meaningfully and enhance their learning experiences. However, reports by several independent researchers have concluded that its uptake has been limited and much of the courseware developed so far has not been used effectively in schools. And this attributed to weakness in the interface design to accommodate the needs of students and teachers. Taking the science courseware of Malaysian Smart School Project?s as a sample, study has investigated the extent, nature and reasons for the problems that have arisen.
