This book is really just a basic reminder about fundamental Christian behavior. We are supposed to have consistently put God's truth into regular practice so that it produces in us a readiness to express biblical love- sometimes tough love, but biblical love nonetheless. We no longer approach anything as we were trained in the old life and not only think and examine all things from an entirely new perspective, but have a new goal to be like Christ in every situation, significant or mundane. We experience difficulty with big things almost always because we are negligent in the small details which would actually prepare us for those situations. One of the huge benefits I have personally derived from researching and writing this book is to evaluate the major conflicts of my own past. With distance and time I knew that some of them were biblically successful and yet many were not, so perhaps now I can learn something going forward. The major failures all had in common my taking charge from the outset, assuming I was in the right personally because I was so confident I possessed the truth, and therefore knew exactly what that person needed. It's spiritually hilarious in retrospect.
