Alexandra Cast is a teenage girl with six younger siblings. Her mother forces her to care for her siblings and the house as a mother would. If Alex tries to speak out against her mother, her mother becomes irate and will belittle and physically abuse her. Alex is unable to leave the house on a daily basis to attend school because her mother claims to be homeschooling her seven children. However, that is not the case at all. School never takes place in the house; which gives Alex a feeling of no way out. She seeks refuge in a relationship that has an abusive end. One day Alex meets a boy, Hal Chase, who empowers her to stand up for herself. He supports her in all she does and encourages her to make a better life for herself. Not yet knowing the Lord, she begins to make questionable decisions. Over time she learns about Jesus and how He can change your life.
