The gods wield terrible power. The people have served the demands and whims of their divine authority for generations. They serve without question, under the constant yoke of fear. For the gods bring fire and destruction to any that dare break their law. The temple enforces the law. Priests rule with divine authority, guards punish by divine right. A young girl runs from slavery and a local villager offers her aid. The gods repay this act of defiance by destroying the village, yet still they require more in appeasement. And a cascade of events is triggered, a cascade that leads to rebellion, to revolution. The temple will fracture, but how can those who want freedom stand against gods?The balance of power will shift, for all is not as it seems. A new name for the gods is rediscovered, remembered from a distant past. Once, long ago, the gods were called Dragons.
