Sir H Rider Haggard
First appearing in The Graphic magazine, She: A History of Adventure is a novel by H. Rider Haggard, an English author also notable for his adventure stories (including King Solomon's Mines). The story centers around a duo and their encounters with a group of primitive natives in Africa. The protagonists of the novel are Horace Holly and his ward Leo Vincey, who after a chain of events, travel to Africa and are captured by a native tribe. As the novel goes on, the novel discusses European imperialism and colonialism in Africa, telling an interconnected tale through Holly and Leo and the natives' interactions.
