Bob Dylan | Rolling Thunder Revue: The 1976 Live Recordings
This box set of a massive 39 CDs compiles all professionally recorded concerts from the second leg of the legendary Rolling Thunder Revue tour in 1976 – all sourced from the original tapes. The box contains a total of 381 tracks, of which 371 have never previously been released, as well as a booklet with liner notes by Mikal Gilmore and rare photographs.
Concurrently with the major CD box set, a 3LP set is released featuring the entire concert from Fort Worth, Texas, May 16, 1976 - remixed from the original multitrack tapes.
On the second part of the legendary Rolling Thunder Revue tour, Dylan invited a number of old friends and collaborators onto the stage. Among others, he was reunited with Joan Baez, and at several concerts, they performed together as a duet with songs such as "Blowin' in the Wind" and "Railroad Boy".
Dylan's band consisted of bassist Rob Stoner, violinist Scarlet Rivera, and drummer Howie Wyeth, all of whom had participated in the successful album Desire, as well as guitarists Mick Ronson (known from David Bowie's Spiders from Mars), Steven Soles, David Mansfield, and T Bone Burnett.
