Marillion | Less Is More (2026 Reissue)
The British progressive rock band Marillion is reissuing their critically acclaimed 2009 album Less Is More, in which the band reinterprets a number of songs from their extensive back catalog in new, acoustic, and more subdued arrangements. The album shows a different and more intimate side of Marillion, where the grand progressive rock arrangements are stripped down to their most essential elements, and where the melodies, lyrics, and Steve Hogarth's expressive vocals are allowed to stand out more clearly.
Less Is More was originally recorded in the summer of 2009 and contains new interpretations of songs from various periods of the band's career, including "Go!", "Interior Lulu", "Out of This World", "The Space", and "Memory of Water". Rather than simply presenting acoustic copies of the original recordings, Marillion has rethought the structure and instrumentation of the songs, giving familiar compositions a new character. The result is a collection that underscores the strength of the band's songwriting and shows how even their most complex tracks can work in a simpler and more present musical expression.
Now the album is being reissued on vinyl and CD.
