Dr. Martin Ellingham (Martin Clunes, MEN BEHAVING BADLY) is a surgeon with a difference: he can't sand the sight of blood! You'd think this would force him to reconsider his vocation in life, but no; he's quite content acting as the sole physician of a sleepy Cornish village. But it's his abrasive bedside manner--rather than his haemophobia--that puts him at odds with the eccentric townsfolk and gives rise to many humourously awkward situations.
