Musical Priest
Zeb
I was born in Galway, Ireland in '79 and shortly after moved to Vancouver, B.C. with my parents. I started to learn to play violin when I was six ( I really wanted to play the guitar ) and trained classically until I was twelve. When I was fifteen I'd had enough. I put the fiddle away, grew my hair, picked up a guitar and for the next ten years got into Nirvana, Eagles of Death Metal, Soundgarden, Kyuss, Tool and their ilk. ( You know how it goes). I've been in and out of rock bands fronting as lead singer and currently between bands working on and recording my own stuff. However getting back to this album. In the summer of 2003 I went to see my dad in Regina, Saskatchewan. While I was there, I suggested we do a gig together. He upped the ante and suggested that not only should we do that, but we should record it. So we picked some of old favorites, some songs, found Brendan, our saw player, and for three weeks got down to business. We think the work paid off, but you judge for yourself. Zeb Dec. 2004 Recorded live at the Bardo Cafe, Regina, Saskatchewan, Aug. 2003 If it be of interest, the album ' The Boy From Ireland ', ( also on cdbaby - see the 'UZ2' link on the sidebar ) is a recording I did ( again, with my dad ) in Blue Wave Studios in Vancouver in 1981 when I was 9 yrs old. Also, the saw being played on ' Musical Priest ' is 3 feet in length. You can see pictures of it, and Brendan Schick playing it, by clicking on the ' Musical Priest ' link from this page.
