Sweden's legendary D-beat band DISFEAR makes a surprising comeback with the uncompromising new album "The Last Nail".

The album was recorded before the tragic deaths of the band's highly influential lead singer Tomas Lindberg and drummer Marcus Andersson. "The Last Nail" stands as a final, powerful full stop for one of the genre's most iconic groups and a worthy addition to Lindberg's and Andersson's musical legacy. The album is also a tribute to those who passed away before them, and those who will follow.

DISFEAR has continued to evolve over the years, and despite their respective illnesses, Lindberg, Andersson, and the rest of the band insisted that "The Last Nail" be released as soon as possible as a final, defiant triumph.

During a visit to the Welfare Sounds studio in Gothenburg in the spring of 2023, Lindberg was originally only supposed to make a few adjustments to the already recorded demo vocals. Instead, he ended up re-recording the vocals for all eight tracks, driven by a sudden creative inspiration.

Later that same year, Lindberg was diagnosed with cancer, which largely put an end to his creative endeavors. When he recorded the vocals for the album, his lyrics already revolved around death, illness, and darkness – themes that would tragically prove to anticipate his own as-yet-undiagnosed illness.
