Miles Davis worked with arranger Gil Evans three times in his career. After 'Miles Ahead' and 'Porgy and Bess', together they created 'Sketches of Spain', a high point in both their careers. Combining Spanish themes, lush orchestration, romantic timbre and Davis' increasingly lyrical playing, the album still resonates five decades after its initial release.
