Founding fathers of rhythm and blues vocal harmony, the highly influential Orioles with lead Singer Sonny Til were the first African-American vocal group to target a young African-American audience. The group debuted in 1948, and their second single, the ballad "It's Too Soon to Know", went to number 1 on the R&B charts in late 1948. Presented here is Sonny Til's rare 1979 solo album, featuring "Back to the Chapel," Sonny's answer record to the Oriole's signature hit, "Cryin' in the Chapel." All selections newly remastered.
